For generations farming has been a part of my family's history. The picture is of my granddad getting ready for the harvest in Wyoming on the same land that we still raise organic wheat on today.
The annual harvest of wheat is what brought my mother and father together, he working on a harvest crew from New Mexico and her working at the Antelope Station Cafe' in Wyoming where the harvest crew ate breakfast, and two weeks later they were married and my future was set in motion.
As a small boy I rode tractors with my granddad, spent time on the combines with the harvest crew, played in the granaries, went to the elevator to sell wheat and learned a bit about farming.
However, my dad ended up a teacher and we moved to Montana, met my wife while in high school, married and started a corporate career, but my grandparents kept the land and produced wheat season after season.
Today the school section of land is still in the family producing organic hard red winter wheat, that is a part of the product we mill and sell.
